About project
The project, part of the XVIII Northern Character International Film Festival, is supported by the Government of the Murmansk Region.
The competition brings together young creators, industry experts, and audiences, contributing to the development of Russian cinema in the spirit of traditional values and innovative approaches. It provides a platform for creative growth, knowledge sharing, and inspiration.
The main goal is to form a professional community of filmmakers shooting in the High North by supporting talented creators, promoting traditional spiritual and moral values in cinematic art, introducing innovative approaches to filmmaking, and creating conditions for the creative growth of a new generation of audiovisual content creators.
The competition is open to filmmakers from Russia and other countries. All shortlisted participants will have the opportunity to present their films to experts for public discussion. The project must be completed by the time of application. Foreign participants are required to provide Russian subtitles.

During the festival days, 2-7 November, 2026, experiences directors and producers will give their professional analysis of the films submitted to the competition.
