About the Kinoshtorm project
The project is part of the Northern Character Film Festival and is supported by the Government of the Murmansk Region and Presidential Grants Fund
Kinoshtorm is a festival-laboratory for young filmmakers taking their first steps in the genre of documentary and feature films.
The main goal of Kinoshtorm is to improve the quality of film products created by regional filmmakers.
The competition is open to aspiring filmmakers from any region of our country. All those shortlisted for the competition will be able to present their films to experts for public discussion. The work must be completed by the time of application.

The competition is held in the following categories: "Feature film", "Documentary film", "Short Video", "TV program.
An international competition of films created with use of neural networks will be held as a part of Kinoshtorm project.

As a part of the XVII Northern Character International Film Festival, there will be a number of festival events held, the laboratory participants will become listeners at master classes of the film forum, they will also be able to attend the main festival events of the international film festival.
During the five festival days from November 3 to 7, 2025 professional film directors and producers will give their expert analysis of the films submitted to the competition.
The award ceremony for the winners of the competition will take place at the closing ceremony of the XVII Northern Character International Film Festival on November 8, 2025.
